i won’t forget any memory with laura, least not our first: i was terrified to meet josh’s family, especially his three nieces who he so adored. that day, not only did laura burst through the door with her crinkle-smile and big hug, but she’d got her girls to make huge welcome signs and gifts just for me. that was the start of my seven years of her thoughtfulness and over-the-top generosity (beechwood donuts, coke cans, chicken nuggets, even an engagement party), which always put me at ease immediately. laura saw me and knew every time exactly how to make me feel included, encouraged, loved. she showed her daughters how to love so well.
